With two circular walls, specially milled beams forming the roof, floor, and walls, and a metal clamp to hold everything together, construction is straightforward. These compact dimensions, less than 2.5 meters wide, also make barrel saunas easy to transport using a regular trailer or specialized vehicle.
Insulation Challenges. One notable drawback of barrel saunas is their lack of insulation. Typically constructed with 40mm wood without mineral wool insulation, they may struggle to maintain temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius in sub-zero temperatures.
Single Bench Level. Due to their shape, barrel saunas do not provide space for multiple bench levels like traditional saunas. As a result, all users experience a similar temperature, and the full effect of pouring water on the stones (known as "loyly" in Finnish) is mainly felt at the top.

For myself the most important factor is the single bench level, so in barrel sauna I cannot experience the loyly :) Honestly I prefer the traditional finish sauna.
